alltoys please help v700
I was putting in a new primary spring in my v700 and I broke off one of the drive pully's cover bolts (should have used a torqe wrench). Do you know if I can drill it out or something? I have not started it yet I don't know if I should try to ride it the way it is or find a way to fix it first. If you or somone else has any ideas please post thanks in advance.

Kongman,
Do you mean the face plate and the small bolts that hold it on. If so when you take off the face plate does the bolt stick up above the spider if so you can use a stud extractor that will screw onto the bolt as it does it will turn the bolt out of it's spot. If it is broke off flush with the spider this is full proof way of getting it out. Find a welder that can use a TIG torch ask him or her to weld some metal on top of broken stud high enough to use a pair of vise grips on the welded portrusion. Once it is cool enough to touch with bare skin it will turn out so easy it will blow your mind. I have used this method for years even on studs where other people have tried to use extractors and such. It is very difficult to drill a small hole dead centre of the broken stud you will need a cobalt drill or carbide drill that is very expensive plus and extractor and there is no guarantee it will work. You could drill off centre and at an angle screwing up the threads and so on. Find a good welder they can do this in about 10 minutes and save a whole lot of grief.
If worse comes to worse you can always use it with one broken bolt it won't fly apart there is enough of a safety factor it won't hurt anything.

What Alltoys said is 100% right on the money. I know from a recent experience. Tried to use an easy out on a rusted bolt I snapped off. Broke the easy out. Took the part to my local welder. He welded a head to the bolt and it backed right out. Cost me $30 for two bolts.
The bad thing I found out about easy outs (the hard way) is if you snap one off it is nearly impossible to drill out because the buggers are so hard. You have to chip it out with a punch or weld a head on the bolt.
Its worth the $20 to avoid the headache
