Slight Exhaust Backfire...
#1
After DJ Kit install w/ snorkel and Nyroc's exhaust mod I have great power and response reaction. Problems are with rapid deacceleration I have mild exhaust backfire.
This summer with temeratures in the 90's, I was riding at about 8,000 to 9,000 ft and had awfull loading up problems. Any terrain which required slow steady speed, the carbs totally got bogged down.
What do I need to adjust?

I would try the air/fuel screw. If the screw is on the intake side of the carb, it adjusts air. If it is on the output side, you are adjusting fuel. Either way, you may have to richen it up but unscrewing a 1/4 turn or so. I installed pipes and I had to back off 1 full turn to get rid of the farting

You and I operate at about the same altitude, and have about the same mods, hate to tell you this but throw away the DJ jets, use the Kawa jets 138 front 142 rear, use DJ needles on the 5th notch, thats the top one, adjust your screws to 3 to 3.5 turns out. I have found that with 6 uni-vents in the airfilter lid, I keep them closed below 8000 ft but above that I take the tape off of them and operate to 11600 without a blubber. This is with a twin-air filter and DG snorkle. Backfire on deceleration is normal, just means your on the rich side, won't hurt a thing, hope this helps you...
