rear drum brakes locked up.....
#1
...not my bike, but a 2000 Honda Foreman 400. I posted this in the Honda forum, but nobody talks about utility bikes or working on stuff there, its all EX this and that. I was wondering whats the best way to free up the rear brakes on this bike. If I use them, they stick on and I have to get off the bike and pull the lever to free them up. Ive oiled the snot out of everything I see and really dont want to take it apart. This is annoying when I want to use reverse......
Maybe a Kawasaki person knows about these brakes? Thanks!

I was afeared of that. I hate working on drum brakes, I have unhooked the cable to it for now, its a gear driven bike so brakes arent as critical as my belt driver. Thats a good thing because the front brakes on it suck too. Thanks.

Wow, way later here. I just today got around to rebuilding the brakes on the Honda. Turns out the left front mudd seal was broken and let in crud. that crud took out the shoes. The rear drum cam was stuck and I had to hammer it out. I lubed it up and now with new shoes all around, it works great. Now its time to fix my Kawi rear drum.
