The first thing You'll want to do is get rid of those stock tires. I knew if I diddn't say it someone else would. You can get good advice on picking a good tire for Your riding conditions by doing a search for tires on the search feature on this site. Also bookmark NYROC's site. He's the 650 guru who leads the pack in giving great tech support to us 650 owners......

I actually am planning on installing my module today or tomarrow. I really like my jetting for this altitude, but when I get much higher (9,000-10,000ft) it chugs a little. Last time I was at that elevation, I removed the heart shaped cover over the intake, and radiator cap and it ran like a champ up there. I had her doing 62mph @ 10,000ft. When I did that though, it was great weather for it. When the snow comes and mud starts kicking up, I don't want to take off the cover and get crap in the snorkle so I have to find a good jetting combination for up where I hunt I guess.
I will let you know what difference it makes with the holeshot. The reason that I am getting one is that Nyroc and others said that the machines runs better, starts better, and runs cooler because your engine is no longer retarded at low rpm like it was before. That and ofcourse......THE POWER. Truth be told, My brother in law is bringing a sportman 700 hunting this year and I don't even want him to hang with me. He could use a little humbeling!

Well Bosox,
the module didn't make as big of a difference as I thought it would. It does weelie now with my claws as easy as it did with the stockers though. I did notice a small difference in the way it ran. I think I will have to adjust my jetting. It was hesitating a little more from take off. How do you like your jetting set up? Have you had a chance to go up to around 10,000 ft with that jetting?

sicnj, you also need:
1. DiamondG snorkle. It helps.
2. Modify the stock exhaust (only do 6 3/8 holes, so it isn't loud). Details on my website. Go to Techtips->Prairie
3 Get a 2003 650 airbox. It helps too, since it has more filter area it flows better. My 650 goes faster with a 2003 TwinAir than with a 2002 K&N. Don't get a K&N or Twin air until you get the 03 airbox. The 03 airbox might not be as much performance gain for your dollar, but every bit helps. More details and part numbers on website.
I still like my dynojet needles. It really runs fantastic when you have it adjusted right. I only use the needles, I am using Kawaski (kehin) jets.
I don't think holes in the airbox is a great idea, since it allows hot air in the intake.

Nyroc is right about the holes in the airbox lid. I have tried them with mixed results. You can get it right but it will change after a few hours of riding. Im sure its the hot air.
If you want a nice throaty sound and power to go with it I recommend 8 1/2" in the muffler.
Trailburner, if you can wheelie with your claws as well as you did with stockers then the Holeshot mod did its job.
