Default P-650 Springs

went to nyrocs web site alot of great info on there--he recomended erlandsonperformance.com for springs--just wondering what springs to replace(primary, secondary,or both)and what I would gain and-or lose on my P-650

The black spring on the secondary "might" get you longer belt life and it "might" cause you to lose top end. We haven't been able to prove either. At this point it doesn't appear to hurt; unless your belt was set too tight. Then, I could see the added pressure causing excess friction and heat.

The primary springs will increase your engagement rpm and the rate of backshift. Any engagement over stock can cause a harsh smack as it engages. I tried the Dalton blue and it was the most that I would be tolerant of for general use. Although, it did backshift faster than the stock spring. The rear tires would slide as I would slow on gravel.

I consider the primary springs a tool for competition; for when that extra rpm boost at takeoff is needed. Otherwise, I will run the stock springs and maybe tweak the engagement with some primary shims.

Watch for KOD's upcoming post on the springs. He has a bunch that he is testing.

Banach, this weekend coming hopefully I will have 8 primary springs lined up for full testing. Three Dalton springs from Nyroc came today. Hopefully the other 3 will make it here by Friday.

K.O.D.... I had to 2 day that spring to you, to insure you'd have it by Friday... otherwise it would have been Monday...I'll split the shipping with ya... I hadn't really looked at it that closely... it may be the same as the '03 spring thats currently in my new clutch ???... anyway, it'll be there on Thursday... Have fun...WAM
