87 mojave feels slower then my 87 guadsport 230. WHY??????

i just got my mojave back from getting the output shaft and gears replaced. i took it out for a ride and it feels alot slower then my quadsport 230. why is that? Isnt it suppoesed to be faster?
Both quads are 100% stock. well, both have 20 inch rear tires.

um. I am not really sure. my buddy is doing it. I know i need an output shaft. MIne was completely sheared in half. also two kickstart gears where broken apart. and also i think i ned shift forks.
the output shaft was 90 dollars and the two gears and shift forks are 35 each. i also am replaceing the clutch, rear shock, front and rear tires, new exhaust, jet kit, and whatever else is wrong with it. My buddy gave it to me. When he bought his 87 the guy gave him a parts one and i decided to fix it up and he gave it to me. i think i am 500 dollars into it now.
