Default 700 vs 650 Prairie

I just stopped at my local Kawi dealer. They had a 700 priced 7099 right beside a 650 priced 6099. Is the 700 really $1000 better? Thinking Prairie or Grizz in the spring.

I haven't ridden one yet, but from what I've read, yes. It's lighter. It's faster. It has a bigger front bumper (if that matters to ya). What I thought was cool is that it's already pretty set for deep mud. The airbox and CVT are snorkeled to just below the bars. Not to mention the fact that parts should be more reasonable since you also have the V-Force out there.

I'm sure the 700 is an improved version than the 650. I did what you are asking about. I bought a 650 for 5825.00 out the door. Those 03 models will be gone way before spring. I don't regret it at all.

I would buy a 650 for a $ 100o. less. How fast do you need to go. I run my 650 62 mph down the pavement all the time & I don't need to go 5 mph faster for $1000.

From what I have seen, you won't even get 5 mph more out of a P700, stock vs. stock.

THE 700 IS NOT WORTH $1000.00 MORE, IF YOU CAN GET THE 650 FOR $1000.00 LESS I WOULD BUY IT. MY 2003 650 PRAIRE WILL RUN 68 M.P.H. I HAVE A FRIEND WITH A 700 PRAIRIE AND IT HAS DONE 69 M.P.H. ONE TIME. WITH ALL THE STUFF I HAVE DONE TO MINE I CAN EAT HIM UP OUT OF THE HOLE AND THE MIDRANGE AND ON THE TOP END WE ARE ABOUT THE SAME..

Thanks guys for the input. I'm still up in the air on all of this: 650 P 700 P 660 Grizz or just building the Wolverine up. I heard rumor of a 450 wolverine for 2005 so I'm not going to rush my decision. I may just build the Wolvy this winter and see what Yamaha and Kawasaki do for 05.

Sure, but he may be out or perhaps know where you can get one.

I dunno if its worth the $1000 difference, but we just put a new 700 on the dyno and it is making 35 rwhp stock, while the p650 makes 29rwhp.
