tell your friend to get some better tires and never stop running. what kind of quad was your friend riding? I would have had the throttle wide open running for my life. By the way I have never gotten stock with the throttle wide open and moving fast. My heart is pounding just reading this thread. Some paintball guns would have been nice to have. And don't ride at night unless you know the trail well.

Yes, you definitely need to stay off of private property....but assualt and battery on a couple of kids is not the way to handle it. You do need to tell your parents what happened and file a police report, if you know where you were riding then they can track down the property owners easy and investigate the matter. If on the other hand it was not their property then it definitely was criminal assault and battery.
Whether it was their property or not they have no right to smack around a kid, this time it was just some punches in the face, what will it be next time for these guys....will they get out the tire iron, baseball bat, or maybe a knife......

Just file a police report and stay in designated ridiing areas.

Well guys, I appreciate your comments, It does feel good to air out,
we don't plan on taking action, but I'll remember the guy when I see him again somday.
but this was a good lesson to be learned, and the reason I share it is because its good for people to learn by others mistakes

So Bigchris, it sounds like you beleive you made a mistake. In your opinion, what is the lesson to be learned here and what will you tell your kids about riding their quads?

Quit whinning, take your lumps. You were tresspassing, trying to run. Better find a legal place to ride. He had no right to hit you, but you have no right to go to the cops and sue. Grow up, all we need is another friviolous lawsuit. You aren't hurt, just your precious feelings. You need to be responsible your YOUR actions. You are the reason we are losing places to ride. I learned a long time ago, "if it's not your's, don't fck with it". When I was a punk, I had been shot at with rocksalt. Yep, I was in the farmers field taking melons. I didn't btch. I was in the wrong. Be glad you are ok.
Dude you're an a$$hole. This is a 15 year old kid who made an honest mistake. They trespassed, big deal...and they apologized.

BigChris - you should report wherever you were to the authorities...I know you would feel wimpy basically 'telling' on this person that assaulted you, but the fact is...someone who's in their 20's or is the property owner should be responsible for their criminal activities....or at least reported. No don't go and sue them and make a big deal...but if they even HEAR from the cops...that will make them think twice about it again. Also watch where you're riding next time :-)
