Default kfx 700 bulbs

anyone know what headlight bulb the kfx 700 takes. not from kawasaki.

also, has anyone put brighter bulbs in yet. how many watts, any problems???

i want to put in a set of blue 100 watt bulbs but i dont want to mess up the electrical system or melt the headlight enclosure or anything like that.

Don't think 100W bulbs will work. They will probably melt the lamp housing. The system output will be taxed with 200WATTS of headlamp load, too.

Copied from another thread.
Steelhead found a replacement headlight bulb that has a higher wattage output, is much cheaper, and fits the same as stock.
The stock is a 45/45w bulb, However this one says 65/55w.
The Bulb is from NAPA and is a Wagner 6260A
Steelhead and others have been using this bulb successfully without any damage to their headlight lenses or housings for quite some time. This bulb has a heat reflector to keep it from melting the lens.
I called NAPA on the lamp and they seem to thing the A designation means Amber. They said if I order and don't want them I have to keep them. A pre pay thing.

i have been doing some looking on other sites and it seems that an H-4 bulb will work. the h4 is a very common bulb that is at any auto parts store for around $8.00 or less.

i have found these in two wattages 80/100 & 60/55

i plan to try the smaller one and will post the results.
