Is anyone else having problems getting their Sand Stars for the K-700 (22x11x10)? If you have them, do you like them, are they worth the wait?

I too am having trouble gettng the 22x11x10 sand stars. I keep getting the run around. The stores keep telling me there on back order and will be in next, then when it is next week they again tell me it will be next week, and so on and so on. This has been going on ever since the tires were anounced. I'll give them till mid October, and if they are still are not available, Ill probably get the skat trak extremes(24x11x10), as there is only a 2 week turn around on them.

I called ITP yesterday and they said they were still waiting on them from their manufactuer. They said that it will be another 2 weeks to 30 days. I told them that I thought it was bad advertisement to broadcast a new item and not have the stock available to support the demand for such a great product. He assured me they would be in no later then 30 days. I'm pushing the clock, dune season is approaching quickly and I need something but I don't want to settle just because. I really liked these and have already received the fronts and they look good. I just hope they perform as well as they claim.

If anyone works for ITP can you confirm delivery schedules?

Go with Skat-Trak Extremes or Taller Haulers for the V in the rear. It has way to much torque for V paddles. If you want good drag and hill power go with a straigt blade paddle and Skat quality cannot be beat. As for the front's. I too have the Sand Star's up front and word to the wise..... Make sure you are running stock offset wheels or use a steering stabilizer with offset wheels. Those tires grab so well in the sand compared to knobbies that your steering will feel wobbly and jerky. I rolled mine last weekend for the first time since I got it due to not so kind handling characteristics with Sand Stars and offset wheels. I have now had them remounted with stock offset and they seem much more handleable. Be careful with them at first. Good luck.

I have had Sand Stars on order from Parts Unlimited of 2 1/2 months! The are suppose to ship this week or next. They did ship my fronts 2 months ago! WOOOOOPIE! Wonder what I can do with those? ITP has been advertising them since May! Not very good for there reputation! I don't need them till my Glamis trip in November and if I didn't think I would have the within the next 2 weeks I would cancel my order!

Steve Abbott at Quadcentralusa.net has them also. They are all over in Las Vegas. Nobody wants them, they are another Sand Gecko!

Thanks for all the advise. I think I'll keep my order and hope for the best. I'm not a fast rider so I don't think I need anything major. If anything, I need them to slow me down and help me stay in control!

I've seen you ride and you are probably one of the most talented riders I've seen, for a chick. Just keep that "V" with the rubber side down!
