Default Dalton Face Plate & DPK Weights

Thanks DWB, I have the plain/white along with the EPI black that I am planning on putting in when i check my first deflection, they did tell me a Dalton that useing the spring's along with their flyweight's will make it accelerate harder than the spring's alone, but I am hestitant until someone can confirm which gram performs the best, I don't want to lose any top end, I don't want to "lose" any performance anywhere in the powerband, I have just heard conflicting reports that the weight's EPI recommended some other guy killed his top speed, and with our 700 Pra. having different cam timing than the V I don't want to spend the extra money on the weights and be stuck with them if they hurt more than help...If you are someone else already have them for the Pra. aolng with the dalton plain/white I would love to know just how much more the weight's help than just the spring's alone......

HiggsV,
You will never hit the rev limiter unless you get a big bore kit or find a tunnel with no air in it LOL. There is a soft limiter and it is very hard to surpass that rpm, timeing is retarded to a level that will take a very long paved road and a very light rider to climb over the soft limit to the 8500rpm rev limiter.

Stakk,
OEM weghts in the Prairie are at 60 grams I do beleive Daltons adjustable weights are at 58 grams. I would think your new Dalton spring with OEM weights would do better than the 58's. The front clutch on the P700 is identical to the VForce so the Dalton face plate will work as the belt is also the same. If you try OEM spring/weights but Dalton face plate I wonder what that will do. Then try OEM weights/blue spring with Dalton face plate and so on. One thing I did notice with my 650 is that I used Kawi 360 weights/stock spring with machined clutch and it worked better than with original weights/spring.

Well today I reach 73 mph!

The new clutch set up works great from bottom to top! I don't know how it will work on stock machines but modded ones it works.

My machine really starts to shake at higher speeds. It was scairy but enjoyed the rush. In fact I enjoyed it about a dozen times or so! I am going to look at getting my rims and tires balanced. It never hit the rev limiter either. I think since I got it dailed in with the dial jets it isn't running lean. The blue spring should help raise my rpms up some so I will try that next.

I raced my buddy on a 650 Prairie with holeshot, jet kit, filter, etc. I pulled a constant 6 to 7 bike lengths with in 60 feet and keep pulling away the further we went.

Prairiewrench,
Sorry I missed your call, I was building a Pirate ship with my son's cub scout pack for the up coming Halloween parade. Try again sometime this week after 8pm I should be home.

WW,

Are you using the weights with any rivets in them? If so , in which hole(s)?

DWB,
There are no rivets in yet!

Nova,
68 mph with stock clutching.

Today I had the front tires balanced the best my tire guy could do and installed the blue spring. It even pulls harder than the white stripe spring and was able to get 75 mph with less wheel shake. I think that is fast enough for me! It gets harder to slow down a 600# machine going that fast.
