Default V-Force Backfires need help

I run at sea-level,stock filter box,T-4 procurcuit pipes.V700 backfires when I let out of it from full throttle.Check the plugs, have dry black sut on them.Run super unleaded(Exxon) fuel.Do I need to rejet the carbs? Or is the backfire from the extra fuel from being on the rich side? The V700 runs BADA$$,Doesn't cut out on top,or drag in the mid.

I would think you may be a tad rich. Stock jetting I presume. You can either try jetting down a size or 2 or try to open up the air flow going into the bike. K&N filter , open the lid of the air box see if it goes away. Allittle performance backfire is ok. I would think with pipes, stock jetting and sea level you should be ok in the jetting. But, plugs don't lie!

I turned out my air screws on the carbs to 2.75 turns. Now it hardly ever backfires. Sometimes it does if I'm WOT then let off the gas and engine brake, but it's pretty rare now. I can engine brake all the way down sand sand mountain without any problem. I wonder how far out they can be turned at max.

Pro Circuit should have a recommended setting for your mixture screws. If not, back the screw out 1/2 turn at a time until it goes away.

Where exactly is the mixing screw located? Is this sometimes reffered to as the air screw? Thanks.
