Default P650 Clicking in 4WD LowRange @ Slow Speed

I have HoleShot ATRs. The Rear tires roll 75" while the fronts roll 72.5. When crawling forward I get a clicking or ticking from under the machine. It's not rythmatic, or real loud. ????

The gear slack in the tranny does that. Does it happen basically every time you coast and then go? Like every time you go up and over a bump?

The swing arm brgs could make a noise like that.

The driveshaft might make a noise like that.

Once I had so much dirt on my lug nuts that they didn't clamp down firm and the wheel was actually slipping slightly on the hub. That made a click.

Some people have reported the motor mount bolts get loose. That might click.

I'm sure the bearings are ok. It is only in 4x4.
I am concerned with the difference in tire roll. could it be that?

No, the ideal is around 2". If they were even it would be hard to steer in 4x4. They are intended to roll a tad shorter in front.

Only 4x4? Ok, other than the 4x4 driveline or front axles, I can't think of anything.

Mine also does this in low, 2 or 4 wheel drive. I believe it is the slack in the gears and nothing to worry about.

OK! I'm not alone on this one. Thats good. I hope. Just to clearify, it is not the backlash from the clutch area when going down hill in low. I am used to that. This click is coming more from under the center and sounds like somthing breaking. I know it isn't my swingarm bearings because I just replaced them with a new drive shaft. But you never know. I'll just keep riding.

Thanks Guys

I noticed mine clicks when I have the engine off while rolling in the garage. It seems to click softly after you roll it about 5' or so.

The noise is from the front diff. There are three cogs on the front differential shifter that fit into some slots on the front bevel coupling when you shift into 4 wheel drive. There is a lot of play in the cog/coupling when engaged and it clicks as the cogs bash back and forth in the coupling. I found this out when I pulled everything apart to replace a leaking front diff seal.

When I was pushing the quad in the garage it was off, in neutral, and in 2wd. Will those little cogs still make noise?

Thanks
