650 rear brake ?

anyone here ever have to change your rear brake on your prairie 650 ? i let a cousin ride it for a little while and now i have to push further down on my rear brake to stop . i think he was riding the brake with his foot.02 650warn 2500K&N filterEPI black springnyroc exhaust mod87 warriordg pipe

your cousin probably wont admit to it, but he more than likely took off with the parking brake on, my sister in law did it with mine, I could tell it when she took off but with the noise she couldnt hear me yellin. she made about a 300 yard loop before she came back around to find me grittin my teeth. she pulled in with a confused "something isnt right look" I walked up pulled and released the brake and walked away. It was the smartest thing to do because if I had started she would have been cryin by the time I got done. My brake was then "soft" I tightened up the wingnut adjustment on the rear axle which helped some, but I suspect the brake surface may be "glazed" or smoothed from the constant friction. the same thing happens to manual clutches, and if it is newer and has some wear left in it they say it will correct itself as you wear it down past the "glazed" portion.
