Lakota extras
#3
i just put alltracks and douglas .190 on the rear and front pro and .190's 0n the front of my lakota. (stock sizes) the left rear only has one/eight in. clearance at the battery box. i dont know how they work yet because of the snow in ill. i didn't save any weight on the rears and saved about a pound on the front. i just recieved my IDS/2 , jetkit, and k&n filter today i'll put them on tommorrow, i'll let u know how it does. i could'nt tell a lot of difference with the alltracks/front pro's /stock tires. when i was in the snow, also the alltracks look a lot meaner in person than in the catalog. The conversion was done by the previous owner. I put new clutch plates in it 2 weeks ago. All they did was take the centrifugal (spelling?)part out and ran something in to move the clutch when you pull the lever. Not sure what it is from, but I'll try to find out. Works great. Uses the stock plates and heavy duty springs. I'll find out what bike they got the part from to move the clutch plates.

i just put all my goodies on 2/3/00 i removed all the plastic first and started with the IDS/2. no problem removeing old stuff, the IDS comes in three parts, 2 pipes and the muffler no problem putting the pipes on but there were a really close fit to the frame. put the muffler on and the bracket to mount it to the frame was almost 1 inch off (too long). i removed the muffler and pipes and had to grind some welds on the lugs that hold on the heat shield also had to grind 3/8 inch off the middle pipe in a half moon shape to clear the lug. after reasemble all peices fit together better but still 1/4 inch to long but i got it to fit. K&N no problem installing but remember to shorten the tabs on the inside of the cover. jet kit, be really careful removing the parts under the silver cover, i then rotated the carb. 90 degrees (watch the choke cable) and changed the jet (its the one that sticks out the most and looks the biggest). moved the carb. back and installed the new needle. watch for the pin that holds the float at the hinge point it will probley fall out. the instructions were good ,i think its a little faster and sounds really good, i used 10 diffuser rings not counting the end one. any ? e-mail me at vlucdog@aol.com, also i do not have a manual clutch.
