Driven Clutch Spider Bearing Experience
FYI for anyone else out there with a wining noise coming from the engine braking while it's engaged (namely the bearing on the drive clutch spider)
Nyroc's website indicates some guys are cross referencing the bearing # & just replacing the bearing instead of the entire spider since Kawi does not sell them seperately. Or some guys have apperently just some how removed the bearing seal & greased up the bearing..
I tried both ways, 1st off I really have no idea how one would remove the seal without tearing it up so the next option was to try & cross reference the bering part# wich I successfully did. However the bearing itself was $72 so I just went ahead & found the best price on the spider wich was I think $60.66 from Ron Ayers & then had my dealer match that price so I could get it faster. Anyway anyone with this problem might just consider ordering the part instead the hassle of finding the bearing . Or has anyone else out there had experience with removing the seal without damaging it??

sorry have never seen one from the clutch, but most bearings a common stock items, metric ball bearings . once one is out for measurement or the numbers can be obtained from them ,their is usually no problem matching them up. very few companies go to a one of a kind proprietary bearing, too much bother and cost having them special made.

I cleaned and repacked mine with no problems. The wine went away after I did it. If you are careful when removing the seal it can be reused. Don't remove with a sharp object and you will be OK. The number on the bearing is "6907DDG" NSK and the number on the seal was "6907DG8". I don't think you can see the number untill it is removed because there is a collar covering it that the EBS fork runs on. I only tried to cross the number with the NAPA link and it doesn't csoss there.

this is 35mm id x 55mm od x 10 mm thick dd stands for double shields , not sure of the g but it probably is a grease type. this # will get you a bearing at any bearing supplier. nsk list this without shields a 16 .49 us $ . so less then twenty bucks gets you a bearing. Thanks to krabidkvf650 for passing this on , hopefully nyroc will read this post and save the info.
