there are alot of things to consider... future medical bills / complications etc. ... even though I agree they are scum, I'd think finding a decient one that specializes in cases like yours, & knows what to look for, may be in your best interest... in the very least, you can look at the suggestions from everyone, & always reject thier 1st offer, & hint that you are looking at getting a lawyer, just to see if they can find a few more $$$ to help you out...WAM

I want to thank everyone for there time and effort to reply. I now have a lawyer that only does these type of cases on stand-by. All I have to do is sign the dotted line. He had no problem wanting to take my case (who wouldn't). But I'm still going to see what the water co. offers first, then give them warning that I have a lawyer in my back pocket. Maybe there pencil will get sharper. But if I don't like the offer, I will sign the lawyer. The lawyer told me that what ever offer they give me, and then I sign him, he will garranty me at least what they offered, so I can't loose by signing him.. I guess I will have to see how long they take for the offer.

Step aside, sign the dotted line now, don't even consider talking to the water department alone. Who do you think you'll be talking to anyway, some knucklehead behind the counter? you'll be talking to their lawyers, come on now. Let your lawyer do his job, there is no way in hell you'd come out better without him!! Good luck to you, Rich A
