Default help!!! motor problems

i went riding today with some friends of mine and we came across a small pond. we were all playing around and i wanted to go farther trhan them ofcourse dont we all? and i hit a low spot. my p650 sank down past the fenders. the xhaust was under water. my first reaction was to pop it in nuetral and keep it revved up so the water didnt go in my engine. it took a vinson and a wolverine both to pull me out. when i got out i kept revvin it up and the white smoke came out like water was in the engine. i ran it around for about an hour when we all started racing down a long farm driveway. the problem is the vinson smoked me. a few hours earlier i killed him in a race. it felt like the engine was topping out (hittin the rev limiter) way to early we kept racing and he told me his speedo said he was going 61. i no i can usally easily do 68- 70 on that road. what could i have done? and how can i fix it?

First check your oil and make sure its not milky , then remove your cvt cover and inspect the belt and see if you got water and mud in it clean it ,change the oil , and you might have to pull the bowls off the carbs and flush them . then you should be alright .
