Default P700 price (out the door)

I have fund the best way is to look in Cycle trader or similar type mag and use the ad against the sales person. The sales guy I worked with wanted 7k out the door but I flip my trader out on the counter and say "I would rather spend my money close to home Butttt I will drive 100 miles to this other dealer for that much money diffrence" I then told him at least match their price. He started whining about not really making any money on the deal. My reply was I understand you have to make a living but this is a done deal if you can get there. He finaly agrees and then asks how are you paying? I say I want to open an account. now I hear "we have to charge you a 1% fee for the account" I told him to drop the deal and I start out the door. He then checks with the owner and they drop the fee????
BTW I forgot to add I made him throw in a service Manul.
I still think they get hold back money or rebates from the factory like on cars, but I am not sure.
On edit : ag exempt in Texas means no sales tax:

Thank you all for your input. Just trying to get a reasonable price and not get the shaft by the dealer.

You guys are getting way better deals than any dealer in NC VA and KY has quoted me on a P700.

I am also extremely jealous, I could buy a new P700, almost for the price of a used P650!!

This is just a thought. But it seems to me the coastal states east and west, almost everthing cost more. I know the cost of living is much higher so wages are typicaly higher, so it would stand to reason that the dealers would have to hold the line pretty close to list to make it. I noticed that guys in NY and CA typicaly pay more for there Bikes, Than guys in states like TN and AR.
