Default Question on my Tecate 3 Wheeler

Ok heres the update, ripped the carb apart, looked brand new in there so i put it back together and put it back on the Tecate. Checked the spark again looked nice and blue, the compression feels really strong when i kick it over.

The thing will backfire when i try to start it, thats about all it does.

does it backfiring mean the timing is messed up? I dunno what to do from here.

Any help is greatly appreciated

Default Question on my Tecate 3 Wheeler

well i went back out to the freezing garage and there was gas on the ground, the bottom hose from the carb near the drain plug gas is dripping out, dunno what that means but its dripping lol.

so i figure its getting gas, i try to start it nothing. i take the plug out and it looks wet, maybe its getting to much gas?
next i check the spark again, its nice and blue, i don't get it

Default Question on my Tecate 3 Wheeler

How long since you have changed the seals/o-rings in the carb?
Doesn't take much of a leak or blockage in the idle circuit to make starting pretty hard.

Default Question on my Tecate 3 Wheeler

Ive never changed the seals in the carb, carburetors Ive never really messed with so i don't know much about them, i don't dare take the jets out and stuff like that because I'm not totally sure what I'm messing with.

well the key in the flywheel looks ok, but I'm going to pull the flywheel off in the morning to see for sure, that'll also give me a chance to look at the stator.

Is the key in the flywheel what sets the timing? or is there something else i have to fiddle with? i didn't notice a mark in the case to set when the piston is TDC, but i didn't look either, ill check tomorrow when i pull the flywheel off.

I haven't put the carb on since i cleaned it the second time but i made sure the floats arnt sticking by testing it filling the bowl and watching the floats lift, the only time they would get stuck if the bowl was tilted to much.

Since its getting good spark it wouldn't be the wiring rite? and if the key in the flywheel isn't broke the timing should not be messed up? I'm trying to eliminate all the problems.

thanks for all your guys help tho its greatly appreciated.
