This is my third year using the dail a jets. If your jetted correctly they're great. You need to go down 2 jet sizes to give the room to work.

I now use mine for an extra little suprise when pulling. I had a small tank made holds about a quart.
it is hidden under the plastic beside the air box. I use a mixture of Nitro mixed with gas and use the dial a jets to put it in the top of the carbs. It is turned on just before pulling, then hang on!

This system is used in snowmoble racing for several years. Lorn sells the tanks and a carb bowl with float, to stop sloshing, but I made my own and keep it full.

I may be wrong but if my memory is right,, the 2002 650 Prairies float bowls have to be drilled, the 2003 650 and 2004 700 bowls have drains in them!

 

PW, your right, I had to drill my bowls, the parts that came with the kit affected my floats.

 

Just a question guys, why do the front and rear carbs have different jetting? I know that a Harleys acts kind of funny because the rear cylinder runs hotter than the front one, but the Prairie is liquid cooled. What gives?

My early build 2002 has drains on the bottom of the bowls. These won't work with the Dial-a-Jet without drilling???
Shotgun- what did you have to do to make the parts work on your carb?

 

Just got off the phone with my local parts guy... the Kawi parts diagram shows the bowl drain screws on the '02 models... perhaps Kawi was trying to decide if they needed them, or a batch or two, were made mistakenly with out them ??? I don't know about mine yet, but...

GOTMUDDY, on another forum, suggested this... "What you can do is plug the drain tubes and use the allen wrench bolt for the fuel line." ...I assume that that is if you didn't want to drill yours ( if it was one of them without the drain screws )

my parts guy is sure that the bowls will have the "boss" for the screw, even if it doesn't have the screw installed... they told me, that if they don't have the special tap ( very fine threaded metric ), that he has a machine shop that will, & that it will be an duplicate of stock... I also ordered the drain screws ( which list the size, & thread pitch ), incase I decide to pull the dialajet off... the carb bowls are not available as an orderable part, so I can't just order '03 bowls, & if they are screwed up in any way, they can't be replaced short of a salvage yard...
