How bad is mud on a chain driven four-wheeler?
#1
Is it bad to mud with a chain driven fou-wheeler or go through fairly deep water? Where I ride there are some spots that can't be avoided. The mud is at most, the part I will go through, a 1' 6" thick. I am looking for a new four-wheeler and would like to know, prob a kfx400.
Thanks,
Pete

I have a 250 polaris with chain drive and we have had no problem it. I just make sure and clean it up real good when we finish riding, and oil it. I would think it would be worse on the open brake disc than it is the chain. Anyway thats my experience, hope it is helpful.

maintenance...maintenance...maintenance....
It's really that simple. No. Mud and water will not hurt your future chain driven KFX400. Oil before you ride and clean the entire bike and oil when finished. Repeat the process over. Maintain proper chain tension and replace when worn. Other than that, full speed ahead.
