I would like to know the top speed of the 2001 Kawasaki Lakota Sport? I might buy one.

 

Since they didn't change anything other than the graphics, headlamp, and removed the racks you will probably not see a big improvement in top speed. One of my riding buddies has a 2000 Lakota it tops out around 49mph. It's not quite as quick as the Mojave which tops out around 53mph. It is by no means a speed machine!

 

It looks like my freinds 95 Lakota with the racks taken off, it does 50mph.I hope Kawasaki lowered the price accordengly.

 

My wifes Lakota with no racks and trimmed fenders, IDS2 Pipe, uni airfilter and a 13 tooth counter shaft will run about 66mph. I know not many mods for the mph but unless my 1999 F150's speedo is off that is accurate. This machine will beat a 96 Warrior. I think this machine is just faster. Some engines just run better than others of the same make and model.
