87 mojave ?

I have a 87 mojave and some told me the valves need adjusting? Can someone please give me the specs and how to adjust? What do you tighten the valve cover bolts to and the lock nuts on the valve adjustments? What's the method of adjusting these valves? Thanks for any info.

After you get the bike apart.....
Look at the cam gears. The exhaust is towards the front of the bike. The gear will have a "0" on each one. Put the "0" on the exhaust at 9 O'clock and the intake at 3 o'clock.
The clearance is .008-.010 for all valves, adjusted on a cold engine. Put the feeler between the valve adjuster and the valve, not between the cam and follower.
I dunno the tq on the valve cover bolts, they thread into aluminum so not very tight. I just go snug with the adjuster lock nuts.

Chris142, thanks for the info, I am going to try this. This thing just doesn't want to idle and I use to just clean the carb and it would be fixed but that didn't work this time? Any inside on this?
