Default 650 Prairie Seat loose?

Not loose, really, but keeps coming unlatched. I only have 20 miles on it, and the seat is constantly coming undone. Now afetr I get of of it, to try to latch it again, I make SURE that it is latched. I can't pick up the front or the rear of the seat. So it is locked on, right? Has anyone else had this problem?

Check the 2nd plastic tab on the seat isnt bent down and not locking in place .You might have to bend it out a little so it engages into the slot.

Mine did the same thing. What was happening was when i put the seat on i missed the 2nd tab and it was bending the plastic down and after pulling it out a little it never did it again. lol

Me Too.
I have to install the seat in the exact same fashion every time or it is a no go. I stand on the latch side and place the seat down just so the rear edge is just sitting on the rear rack bar. Guiding the front edge forward letting the rear edge gently drop, it just goes in perfectly. To make sure before I press it down on it to latch it in, I pull up on the rear edge and the seat, if all is well it will try to bend in the middle making a wrinkle in the cover. If both tongue's are not in place the whole seat will lift up.
I have seen folks with rear rack boxes to far forward making this a real pain. One fellow cut the rearward tongue to make it easier but it did not turn out so well. I have heard of them blowing off when trailoring too.

Good luck.

When the dealer gave me the walk through ob the bnike, he lifted the seat up to show me what was underneath, and I watched him secure the seat back down again. When I got home form San Fransisco(470 miles), with the quad, the seat was just sitting on top, not latched!

That's hard to believe! It seems like a quality machine, why can't they(the factory design team) get a simple thing like that ironed out?

I thought I was the only unlucky one with this seat problem.
