Whats the whole story? You live where it's freezing and your bike is overheating? Is it actully getting hot and boiling over or what?

Is the fan working?
Is the t-stat stuck?
Is the rad plugged? (unlikely with a relativly new bike, but possible)
Head gasket blown?

Assuming that it is getting hot and boiling over it wont actully boil untill 260 degrees or more. Replacing your radiator cap with one that has a higher pressure wont make the bike run any cooler it will just boil at a higher temp.

I work at a rad shop so fill me in here and I'll try to help.

Default Radiator Cap

Hi, I really want to thank you for taking the time.
The fan works.
The T-stat works.
No plugg's in Rad.
No blown head gasket.
I start it ride for a little while (15-20min) and it starts smoking and smelling like it is over heating and water or something is licking out from the bottom. If I start it and let it run for about and 1/2 hour to 45 min it does the samething. It first happen in the summer and I clened all out after riding in mud and stuff and it worked fine. But now this. Thanks again for your help!

I believe it is coming from the cap.
I had a tech guy look at and tell me everything is fine he tested everything you mentioned.

He drained all the fluids and cleaned everything out and tested everything.
So I wrote in to the message board and a couple of people told me to get a new cap.
They had the same thing happen. What do you think?

When the engine gets to operating temp the coolant will expand. If the cap is not sealing it will leak coolant. It's not actully overheating then? It's leaking at the cap due to expansion?

Maybe your smelling coolant thats burning on the exhaust pipe?

Any auto parts store should have a cap and I guess it's worth a try as they are only about $10.00. Most parts stores can test your old cap but if it's bad you should be able to see where the rubber is broken or swelled.

How is the neck where the rad cap screws on? Could it be bent?
