Default Suspension gurus....help!

I installed my Progressive suspension over the holidays (ended up doing it myself, since the boneheads at my local shop said it wouldn't fit) and I love it. The response to uneven terrain has far exceeded my expectations.

New glaring suspension issue: The rear spring/shock combo is not nearly as effective as the front in soaking up high speed bumps. I ride mostly trails with small jumps; Will stiffening up the rear spring help? It is currently on it's stock setting. Thanks in advance for the help!

I've got my rear shock spring on max stiffness setting and it rides like a dream. I put shims under my stock front springs to help control bottoming out, but I will eventually get a set of progressives.

Thank you for your help, kind sir; Do you think you could explain to me the effects of shortening the rear spring travel on jumps and rough terrain? I'm pretty clueless when it comes to adjusting suspension that is required to go around corners

N2... you can turn up the spring rate on the rear's ( IMO, it are set too soft for aggressive riding )... you can also take it in & have the nitrogen pressure increased, this will not firm up the rear shock, as much as an auto air shock, but will change the dampening charictoristics on the whoops etc...

I was not happy with mine ( for racing & jumping ), & custom installed a pair of Fox racing shocks on the rear, with the stock mono shock... the Fox shocks have adjustable springs, which I remove, ( unless I'm running my rear rack / spare tire carrier ), the Fox shocks are tunable to rebound & dampening, & greatly improved the overall handling...
