Default p700 backfireing

I went on a great ride last Saturday and found out what a great machine this p700 is! My concern is that when I would nail it and then jump off of the throttle I would get a backfire. (sometimes)
My machine is fully stock and I am at about 600 ft. altitude. Do I need to be concerned about my factory jetting? The bike has 16 hrs and has not had it's valves checked yet Also is it normal to hear valve-train rattle at idle? (at least that's what it sounds like)

Nonetheless I had no problems going everywhere any of the other bikes went (including the tight trails) and at any time I had the power to lead the pack. I drag raced a new Polaris 500 HO Scrambler and ate his lunch. Can't blame it on rider I think cause this is my first quad. Can't wait to mount a set of Big Horns or something like that and drill a few holes in the exhaust.

After 6 hrs of thrashing this beast I was surely sore Sunday. With many more hrs on the hour meter I am sure this won't be a problem.

The owners manual says that the factory jetting is good until 1300 0r 1600 feet. After that , you need to rejet. I hope I'm correct on the altitude, I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong!

I'm riding my bone stock Prairie at 6,000 to 9,000 feet. It's probably running rich, but it runs fine.

my p700 does the same thing. when i have it wide open and then let off the gas it will make a loud pop out of the exhaust. i have adjusted the air screws so now it starts easier but was unable to get rid of the popping noise. i think the valve noise is actually the clutch making the noise. at least that what it sounds like on mine. it wouldn't hurt to check the valves though.

I have the V-FORCE 700 which I believe is the same motor- I had the same problem and found it to be the rubber intake maniforld clamp was loose. Tightening it took care of my problem -hope it works for you.

I tweaked the idle adjustment screws according to NyRocs instructions and now all is good. I can wheelie (over backwards if not careful) from a dead stop now and it cranks and idles like a dream!

Thanks for the help.
