Default Warn winch on a P-700 question........

I bought the Warn 2.5 Winch kit, as part of the recent KAW. promo, when I bought my P-700. My question is: Are the winch mount kits the same for a P-700 as they are for a P-650????? I noticed that the application on the mount kit box says "P-650". I hope they are the same. I can get the Warn kit number off of the box, if needed.

My 2.5CI kit said the same on the box; it fit real well, though. Took me ~ 2 hours to install. HTH

Default Warn winch on a P-700 question........

I got the Warn 2.5 with my quad. I decided not to buy the bracket yet and installed winch feet forward to the two holes in the front crossmember of the frame. I used the upper two holes on the winch for the Warn fairlead. I was thinking about a roller fairlead but it would not be mounted any different than the one I have and can't figure how it would really do any good.

I may or may not get the stock (kawasaki) or Ramsey mounting bracket later, I guess it depends if I have any trouble with the way I installed mine.

P.S. I mounted the relay block under the seat on the crossmember behind and under the battery (above the exhaust), with zip ties. It isn't going anywhere, and I can easily get at it and check it.
I also mounted the control switch on the handle bar so that just the little bracket fits up thru the stock gap in the plastic, very nice and neat..

If anybody has had any problems with this winch mounting arrangement, please speak up for the uninformed (ME).

As a side note, the roller fairlead that I got had the rollers to close together. The winch would pull the cable through but you could not pull it back out. I took a die grinder and ovaled the holes a little so I could move the rollers a little further apart and this has seemed to work well.
