Knocking when Frozen??
Hey guys.. I had my 650 out for a run the other nite and got pretty dirty.. I thought I'd better wash what dirt I could off it before I put it in my shed. Also it was getting close to the freezing mark in temp outside... After about 3 days in the shed with cold tempretures outside.. I knew one of my tires was losing air so I pushed my bike out and jacked it up removing the front wheel.. I left the bike out all day and it was pretty cold out... So after I got my wheel fixed and was ready to put back in shed I put on my choke and started the bike up. It ran for about 2 min before it started to idle low and start to sputter.. I usually run over and shut the choke off and let it idle on its own... But this time it stalled and I had a heard time getting it going by playing with choke and holding throttle in.. When I got it going finally it started knocking something wicked!! I thought it was gonna throw a rod or something!! But soon as I touched the thottle it would go away.. then come back again... It did this for about 30 sec then cleared up and I drove it into the shed and lite the wood stove to thaw it out.. Would have the belt been frozen? What about oil pressure? I mean it didn't do this right away when it was first warming up for 2 min? Any body have any suggestions or had this problem? Thanks!

Knocking when Frozen??
therock--- wouldn't the bike start, or run funny with the compression release malfunctioning? I guess the noise could be found by listening thru a piece of vacuum or fuel hose, aka a stethoscope. My P-650 knocked like this, in the cold. My noise came from the primary clutch area.
