Default P650 airbox Mod

Allright guys, I performed a search, but can't find the info on how to do the airbox mod. How much more power does it give you? I had heard that you have to rejet the carb? Well, if I'm at 3200ft elevation, I'm running rich, anyway, right? So if do the airbox mod, and get more air to the engine, maybe I don't have to rejet? Need input!!!

Default P650 airbox Mod

Are you referring to the air box snorkel which can be changed out with the Napa #7335 radiator hose ($13) or the DG intake snorkel ($50)? I have not done this mod yet, but I understand that you usually have to rejet to take advantage of the extra air. If you add an aftermarket exhaust along with the snorkel, you definitely should think about rejetting to get the air/fuel mixture correct.

If you are currently running rich with stock jetting at your altitude, its possible that you don't have to rejet with only the snorkel mod...so I recommend that you add the snorkel, then run it without changing jets for a little bit....then see how it runs and check the plugs for their color. Trial and error seems to be the best method for jetting from what I've read (taking into consideration the jetting of other similar quads in your area).

Good luck!
