Default Burping oil????

Sorry, left out the question. On my 03p650, the thing just burped oil into the breather. It only did this like twice but it fouled my plugs and I hope it is not a sign of serious damage. I haven't had it long and have been pretty easy on it. Oil level is fine and it hasn't been tipped. Any suggestions?

You might try adding a demister screen to the breather hose. It'll stop any sloshes of oil from getting that high. What happens is, once enough oil splashes up to the top of the crankcase to cover the opening to the hose, the suction from the breather pulls it up into the airbox.

if oil was blurped into the airbox it had to be at high rpm,the 650s will do that, it happened to ours

It was the oil level and possibly thin oil. Hasn't been long since my last oil change though. R&R'd the oil and plugs and she purrs like a kitten. Where would i get a demister screen?

I was afraid you'd ask that question.. You might have to make one, the only ones I've seen are on ships. All it is, is a piece of tubing with wire mesh inside it. The wire mesh allows air to pass freely, but impedes the passage of oil, water, etc. Unless the quad starts putting a lot of oil into the breather on a regular basis, I wouldn't worry about it too much.
