Every one of you got a better price than I was quoted. I know that If I go to Nevada, I'll have to pay the sales tax at the DMV when I come back to California. Does Nevada have sales tax, too?

wiley coyote,
$6918.00 out the door sounds WAY to high. I just bought mine on Dec 30'th for $5699.00 here in the Houston area. There was a $50.00 fee added for title or something but that was it...$5749 OTD (Farm Exemption=no tax). Basically, the MSRP is $6499.00 on the V-Force. I cant imagine any dealer charging more then that unless its a limited edition which I think MSRP is $6799.00. You should be able to find one for at least $400 under MSRP, I dont care what area of the country your in, and as far as other fees you mentioned; $1000.00 for assembly and transportaition..........thats just highway robbery! No such thing as an assembly fee that I have ever heard of! They probably just made that up to look like you were getting a deal when they came down from $8000 to $6918. Dont do it, they are trying to screw you!

Hey wileycoyote me again! I paid 6,600 otd hear in Valencia Ca. But looking at the other peps responce sounds as thouh I got the short end of the stick. Oh well! I am happy and thats all that counts. Oh by the way I also bought at the same time Yosh pipes! After I figured out how to put them on I am not really happy with the results. It looks cool, sounds cool, but I am not sure that they pull as hard as stock. I know I must be on crack or something but that is what it seems to mee!!! I am heading out to Glamis this weekend to do some real seat of the pants testing and I will let you know the results.

Thanks for the replies. I'm glad I made this thread because I would have a serious case of buyer's remorse had I shelled out almost seven grand for this bike.
The dealer I went to is Chaparral in San Bernardino. I had told myself that I would NEVER buy a bike there, and I was just reminded why. I think those of us in California get screwed a little more because we're just used to paying through the nose for everything. Given Southern California's population, and the popular desert areas nearby, demand for these things is probably higher than anywhere else in the nation.

Yes Nevada has a sales tax. I have found the dealers here are not alot better then those in California. It seems that the AZ dealers are better at dealing. Try Sierra Cycles 520-459-2589 they have a add in the Jan 6-Jan 12 cycle trader for Arizona the V-Force 700 for $6275.00 OTD. Arizona motor sports say they will match any competitor's current add. azmotorsports.com Good Luck

I went to put a deposit down on the 450R, and get on the waiting list. I ended up sitting on a V Force. The ergos felt perfect. I ended up buying the V Force. $6400 OTD. This is one powerful quad.
