Default warn or ramsey

which is better? well warn has been making winches a long time, as well as ramsey..
parts should not be a problem for either one
1 year warranty on warn,
lifetime limited on ramsey, except for motor which is 1 year
less amp draw on ramsey as compared to warn
weight both real close..
features, well ramsey has the remote operation, as well as manual switch.
cost, well you can buy a ramsey remote 3000 lb for about 325-340 or so.
(trax motorsports)
install is not hard, just time consuming, plan on it taking the better part of a day
to install & run the wiring (bumper, front plastic, handlebar plastic, and center plastic comes off)
all depensd on what you want to spend, & what features you want, both are good..and use similar designs.

Default warn or ramsey

Installed a Warn 2.0 on my King Quad after I thought my Superwinch had burned up, turned out it just over heated and shut down. Either way it took less then 2 hours to install either one, installing the warn was just as long as I replaced all the Superwinch componets, including coffee breaks{ union rules}. It looks like the Ramsey and the Warn are almost identical, although the remote is kind of neat. Although when I stick my wheeler and have to winch it I like to sit on it and operate, plus with the remote one it is another part to fail, if so is there a manual start and stop on it? AlaskaBoy

I have the warn 2.5 and what surveyor says is true..... ramsey has less amp draw, they also claim to have the fast line speed...... liers!! They did a shoot out on ramsey vs. warn bolth winchs were an exellent choice but the warn has more amp draw and faster line speed and the ramsey has the remote..... not a good choice imo if you loose your remote in the hills somewhere your gonna be pretty upset!!! In the end the ramsey was a few clams cheaper than the warn (with out the remote) but i would still reccomend warn.

Default warn or ramsey

Ive been running a warn 2000 for a couple of years now....nice unit..but there is stronger ones out now
I have never had the need for a stronger one.....Ive been in situations where I had to pull my unit
strait up about 20 feet up a river bank........pulled me and my unit with no problem
oh yea I forgot to mention that I have a ramsey wireless remote[only walk through the muck once]
got it from northern hydraulics $175.00
I didnt like that gaudy switch that came with the warn
now I have a little spring loaded toggle switch just to the left of my inst. panel.....looks really clean

Don't Forget the Ramsey has a remote control that make it even more practical for difficult situations!

Believe me, Kawasaki is right! Times when I got stuck in deep Alone $%?& walking back and forth in that mud is no fun! My next winch is a Ramsey with remote control!

you can wire that ramsey remote pretty much any winch
it dont have to be a ramsey
fairly easy install
