Mojave wont upshift
Right on!
I took my pieces to the dealer today.
The dealer noticed that the pawl had worn a groove in the shift shaft. This groove was allowing the pawl to hang up and not extend far enough to grab the other piece which turns the drum.
I got new parts on order and will modify the new pawl so that it wont wear the shaft again.
Thanks for everybodys help, Chris

It shifts! WooHoo!
I got the pawl, shifter shaft, the small "u" shaped spring and the clutch cover gasket. The dealer says that the waterpump gasket and the larger spring that goes on the shift shaft are on backorder. More on that later.
I modified the pawl per Mojaveaddict's advice. That pawl must be made from hardened steel! My old files wouldn't touch it, neither would the new one I bought off of the Snap-On truck!
I had to use a die grinder! I put it back together. I used silicone gasket maker for the waterpump gasket since I can't get a new one. I was carefull to not over do it with the stuff though.
Filled the rad with coolant and the engine with oil. I ran it untill the t-stat opened and then I shut it down to cool. After it cooled I had to put more coolant in the rad.....Musta had a big air pocket.
Then I went for a short putt and all the gears work. I rode around the house untill the stat opened again and shut it down to cool.
Don't see any leaks.....Yet. I'll check the coolant again after it cools and I'll replace the silicone with a gasket when I get one.
