rate on the prairie 360 4x4

I believe my bike is 401cc?'s at least thats what I was told when I was going to enter a competition, and that I would be pitted against the over 400cc group instead of the 400cc and under, so I didnt bother. The 360 is a great little bike, dont get me wrong. It will do anything I make my 400 do, but just not quite as powerfull. Im sure if you got it buried in the mudd next to mine, it would pull out better thanks to the diff features though. Just reading through the forums, I have not seen any big problems, just some choke issues. Power is only part of the equation.

Ok ,thanks for the mechanics 101 . Now i really like all the features of the 360,but if I wanted to keep the the bike and get more out of the motor how does one determine how much of larger of a piston you put in without hurting anything else? Do you have to change the cam to ? And what type of dollar figure would I be looking at ? Thanks

No no- ya don't hafta bore anything out or any mega dollar investment. Standard bore piston, forged of course, will run ya about $100. be sure to use to old piston rings otherwise you'll need to rehone the cylinder.

I've seen somewhere an exhaust pipe replacement for the P360 that will get 5-10 MPH more out of a stock motor. That was something I have been considering. Not many mods out there yet for this machine, but I'm guessing that it's because it is a relatively new design. That situation should change very soon.

I can't speak for a exhaust on a Prairie 360, but the ProCircuit T-4 on my Rancher gave me much better acceleration at low rpms and better high rpm torque. And a Supertrapp IDS2 my neighbor put on his Prairie 650 really woke that machine up. It is now a real screamer.

HMF makes a muffler for it, gives 10% hp increase and a much better torque curve, but the cost
is a question. $210. The HMF pipes are usually very loud.
Wait a year and everyone will probably make one for it also.
