hey guys this is my first post. i have a bayou 220 and i love it! it was my first quad when i was like 12 and i'm 18 now. i have put a k&n filter on it and a cobra exhaust. i dont like the cobra that much because it sounds like a harley and not a real quad. i think my cousins trx90 with a big gun sounds better. i'm soon gonna get a supertrapp. anyways im going to mod the engine heavily this spring, and im going to put oversize pistons in it with a rebuild and a new clutch (aftermarket). i am wondering about whati should do suspension wise. i want way better shocks all around. could someone give me a price and a website on works shocks?? also i am looking for new fenders and maier doesnt seem to make them for my quad. any insight there?? oh and for all you other 220 owners, dont give in to the flames of other honda owners. i think they're just jealous. haha j/k guys!!

Don't let the quadsnobs in here bug you about your Bayou. They are damn good little quads.
I had two Bayous (220 and 300) up until Nov this year, when I bought a Rancher for me.
Wanted a bit bigger quad that manuvered better, but not a lot more power.
You can mod your Bayou. K&N makes a filter and prefilter, Dyno makes a jet kit,
and Supertrapp makes a IDS2 Quiet core full exhaust for it. Total cost for all thee
would be around $320-340. Will add 2-4 hp and flatten out it's torque curve very nicely.
I am in the process of doing all three to my daughters 220 now. Have the jet kit and K&N filter
installed and am waiting for the Supertrapp to arrive.
BTW, do NOT put a Cobra exhaust on it, The quiet model adds no power, and the regular model
is so loud as to be obnoxious.
I got the Supertrapp http://www.starcycle.com/dirt/supertrapp_atv.html
and the jet kit and filter and prefilter http://www.jackssmallengines.com/atv_kaw_airfilters.cfm
BTW, the second one down. It says 1988 - 1989, but it is really thru 1999.
Note that the jet kit must be installed by someone who knows what they are doing. It will have to be tuned
for your quad. DynoJet has very good help available if your uncle needs it. Just call the number that come with the kit. Do all three at once. Do not ride the quad until it is tuned correctly for the new exhaust and filter/prefilter. Too lean can ruin your engine
