Default Cracked Fenders and Exhaust for P700

Proud owner of a Prairie 700. First of all, if you have anthing else but one, you will come in second! Three of us ride all the time, one has a 660 Grizzly and the other has a Rincon. No comparison.......except for ride, if you like the "cushy" ride. I imagine that will be the next upgrade on the Prairie line is full independant suspension.

Now for my questions. First, I cracked my front fender, right side, about where your knee would hit the fender, all the way thru to the other side. Short of replacing and using the Urethane stuff, any ideas? Thought of forming an aluminum plate on underneath side, securing it with three OEM fender bolts on top and bottom and silicone between fender and plate. a new fender is around $200.00 and installation would have to be around $100.00 or so. Is the front fender hard to replace yourself? Only being 3 months old, it looks like a year b/c of sticks, etc.

Second, does anyone make an exhaust for the P700 yet? I thought I saw it somewhere but cannot find it.

Thanks all and happy / safe riding!!

TC

If you have all of the pieces of broken plastic then drill small holes and "stitch" it together with zip-ties. Ya know make it look like scars....

As far as exhaust try doing the Nyroc muffler mod. It is free and easy and the gains are great!

Remember your carbs may need some attention after modding your exhaust.....

I replaced all my plastic about 4 months ago. The rear and middle pieces are a breeze. The front piece is a little tricky around the headlights and with the rack and all but with an hour or so you can handle it pretty easily. I had my brother assist me in doing the front plastic and let me tell you 4 hands are better than 2 when it comes to the front plastic. Good luck.

Thanks all! I had another guy tell me to rough up the underneath side real good, use some fiber cloth and two-part epoxy and repair it that way. Might try that first, if it doesn't hold up, then I will just replace the thing and be done with it. DaRiot, did you re-jet with the Nyroc?

Yea, that is the strongest mend you can do with fiber cloth and two part epoxy. Make sure you get the epoxy that is flexible.
Removing the front fenders isn't hard, just tedious with the front rack. I had to remove mine to install the Progressive springs, and it only took me about 25 min to remove everything. The whole job only took a couple hours including making a board to help compress the springs!

Good luck!!

I had to adjust my idle mixture a little (was lean) and that was all. Will wait to re-jet untill after I put a twin air on.

I really recommend trying to mod the stock pipe first. It is easy, free, and effective. If you aren't happy then spend that hard earned cash on a pipe. Just my 2cents.

Kahoka is about 1/2 hour from here. there is a pretty good place to ride just North of Quincy, Illinois in Loraine, Illinois. Probably about 1/2 hour from Kahoka. It is about 500 acres, multiple rock bottom creeks, some pretty good hills. it is private land owned by some old farmer that charges $10.00 / day (unless member) and has lunch that he sells from 12 to 1. they get quite the crowds.....that is actually where I cracked my fender last weekend. Let me know if you ever go there.
