Default Idle speed on 650!!

My Kawasaki dealer recently set my idle at 1300 rpm to keep the oil pressure up. been out riding and find that it's idling quite high, cause when I put it in gear you have to really push the gear selector hard and quick so it won't grind. when It goes in gear the bike lurches forward hard because of the idle being so high! does anyone else have their bike Idling at this speed? seems like it would be doing more harm to the transmission than good! Thanks in advance!

That's a little high. Set the idle speed so that it goes in gear easily. It may give a "clunk" but shouldn't grind. If it's too slow it will be hard to get in gear. It's sort of a fine line you are trying to find.
