Mike Penland?
#3
Above number is correct.
I called there the other day to order some tie rods for my V. I talked to Mike's son, Hoyt. He told me that he didn't have all of the answers I was looking for, and that he would have his dad call me back. I was like, so you're telling me that 4 time Baja 1000 winner, 10 time GNCC national winner Mike Penland is going to call ME back? He was like, yeah dude, he'll call you back.
So then I'm out messing with my truck, and my girlfriend yells out the door, "hey.........there's a Mike Penland on the phone, he wants to talk to you." I came in the house, got on the phone, and me and Mike ended up BSing for an hour. He is truly one of the nicests guys I have ever spoken to. He's got a great sense of humor, and he knows his stuff. I ended up buying some of his tie rods for the V, and then I asked if he could do me a favor. He said sure, no problem what is it? I asked if he could autograph something for me, and send it with the tie rods (I figure it would look cool on the office wall). He said no problem, he had some posters with him next to his race bike, and said he would personalize one of them and send it with the rods.
He is truly an asset to atving. One heck of a guy.
