Can someone answer my damn question?
I still have my 1977 KD100m that my dad bought me for X-mas of 76! Mines a dirt bike and yours is a street legal bike but they are basically the same.
Are you sure that it doesn't have an airfilter? I know the carb is inside the case but the airfilter is mounted under the seat and has a tube going to the case where the carb sucks from.
What color is your tank? IIRC they were silver in 77, orange in 78 and green from 79 on.
Anywho. If it has a good spark then move on to the carb or compression. Not likely a compression problem because the cylinder was chromed from the factory.
The choke is on top of the carb up is on down is off. There's a filter in the bottom of the fuel petcock. It could be plugged.
The bike does use points for ignition and the rubbing block could be worn down but this would result in no spark.
I've never had to mess with the points in mine....Ever.

the tank is white and plastic. I put new gas in it the choke is on the key is on the run switch is on there's spark and the spark plug is new. under the seat there is a battery'but you dont need that to start it. There is plenty of oil in the injector too.

One thing that always worked for me with older engines like that is to hold a gas soaked rag in front of the carb when trying to start it. This acted like a choke. When trying to start the bike, does it backfire or make any attempt at all to start? A backfire usually means timing trouble. If you get a kick with the rag over the carb, it is a fuel problem.
