2001 model year...no real changes

No offense taken my friend. Those who take a sincere interest in competitive racing are constantly looking for manufacturers to create new designs to increase performance. As you probably know, the race track often serves as the labratory for technical improvements that may soon become standard equipment on stock models. So then it seems that Kawasaki has probably not spend as much on R&D as some of the other guys.

If it ain't broke don't fix it is good when a manufacture has a huge line up. But Kawi is majorly lacking in the sport and high performance rank. Yamaha and Honda is kicking their butt. Being so impatient I ordered a Raptor and unless the big K delivers before i will be picking up the Yamaha I will be riding a blue Raptor. Hey where are the killer motors like the T-4. hey I actually want a KXF 500 for the dunes. Roost on! no matter what you ride.

Great now there are rumors of a 700SP... Everyone else has new models coming out or in the works. Build it and they will come! A 500 would be nice, a redesigned Bayou, and a new sport quad... I can dream can’t I?

I don't know. I would really like a Kawie, but I am starting to get antsy. The dealer where my wife works has a used 2000 banshee with pipes, chrome, etc. I am seriously thinking about it because if I get it now, I can get the suspension parts ordered and have it ready by dune season. I am going to give it till the end of this month. I will let you know a little closer to when I am going to Imperial. My leave time is very flexible so if you want to go, I can work around different timetables. Also, after I am completely healed from my last mishap, maybe we can ride locally.

man i wish they would have left the racks on the lakota i was really thinking about getting on until they took off the racks and changed the color to that ungly shade of blue does any body know if they will have a version with racks too.
i am riding a craped out mojave 110 and it's just to small and under powered and the lakota really looked like a good quad.
i live in a really wooded and rocky area and all there is are wooded trails around and i needed some thing with good suspension travel and a lot of power with racks. maby i will have to go with a bayou 300 2wd my uncle had one and i kind of liked it but it was real heavy but it was plenty fast but suspension wasent the greatest in the world but o well.

I like my Bayou 300 2x4, it goes there where I need to go then some. I only wish it had more suspension travel and better tires. I bought mine last summer for $3200 (it was a brand new 1996 that never left the dealership lot). I’ve got to say it has never left me out in the boonies (kept for when I got it stuck in really deep mud). They might not be the fastest quad or the most powerful. But the Bayou makes for a good around trail machine. Personally I think it’s as good as anything in else in the 300 class. Now if Kawasaki would only revamp it so that it could compete with the new Ranchers…
