Quick everyone look at Kawasaki’s 2001 model line!! Nothing has changed except the Lakota has not racks, and now is offered in blue!!! Yea, I like my 300 Bayou but the times are changing and the big Kaw isn’t making any efforts to keep up. Please revamp some of the models!

This surprises me. I came from the Personnal Watercraft world where I owned a Kawasaki STX1100. Kawasaki has developed some powerful machines, with the latest technology. I would think they sell more ATV's the PWC.

I do not understand why they don't come out with something new. There sales have to be down.

Just an obersvation.

When you make a reliable product that satisfies customer needs, design changes are not necessary. In other words, "if it ain't broke, don't fix it."

Springdrl, better duck.....you left yourself open to a barrage of negative feedback with that last post-Mine not included. While I have always been a huge Kawasaki fan I couldn't disagree with you more. That type of corporate indifference has plagued this industry, particularly the high performance segment, for the better part of the last decade. The exciting news is that we are entering a new Golden Era for ATV enthusiasts. These are exciting times indeed for the future of our sport with new machines in the wings from the big four and all-new challenges from companies not historically involved in the industry-(Bombardier, Cannondale, et al.) On a positive note I appreciate your enthusiasm for Big Green and Kawasaki isn't standing pat either. New machines are under development now that should give all of us that bleed green something to sing about in the next couple of months. Sit tight! It won't be long now-

Do you have some inside scoop or are you just going off the rumors and tidbits we have been hearing? I really would like something green to fill the empty spot in my garage. Also, I am going to Imperial Dunes sometime in DEC-JAN, if you want to hook up that would be cool. I have never been there before. Hopefully I will have a new machine, if not the trusty 250R gets a fresh top-end and away we go!

I find the Kawasaki line-up to be kinda lacking.
I like Kawasaki and if I buy an ATV it will more than likely be a Kawasaki. However, if I wanted automatic I would have to get the top model. If I wanted a water-cooled engine and gears I would be out of luck with Kawasaki. Mojave? No electric starter. I think that Kawasaki needs to let customers choose options.

Ridzhard, I have a friend of the family who works at one of the magazines and has spoken with some Kawasaki folks about it but they obviously have been extremely tight-lipped. To be honest its probably not as good of a source as bpace's connection to the Yokley family at this point. At this point I have heard enough to be convinced that we're going to see a larger Prairie-which doesn't interest me and one sport machine for 2001. Everyone freaked out when the Connection posted Kawasaki's 2001 line-up with little change but Kawie has yet to make their official press release. On a positive note Kawasaki is in the catbird seat by having a chance to chack out everyone else's machines before release, though the development curve would have to be so far along at this point that comparison would likely have to have been made to the 400ex and DS650. They can't wait too much longer to let some info out or all of us looking to buy a 2001 will put our money elsewhere-I'm personally interested in the Cannondale mostly but I'm holding out hope for the big green machine. Imperial dunes would be great-I would love to meet some more like-minded Arizona enthusiasts. Additionaly I have never been to Imperial. Hopefully I will have something new at that point too. If we're lucky it will be something green and Tecate fast.
