I'm guessing that your first clutch wasn't properly greesed from factory. Also do you use low range? I was on my second clutch by 6800k so even if you are not hard and use low range on your bike it might go that quick. Also I found you must keep your belt adjusted. My problems only went away when we did both clutches.

the '02 secondary was redesigned for '03... the '02 model was not as durable... mine went out at 1,200 miles, at which time I replaced it with an '03 model... they should be automatically upgrading all the '02 clutches to '03 models, when they get replaced now... if you recieved the '03 redesigned clutch for your replacement, & it went bad that fast, then it is probably something else... it could be bad shaft bearings / bushings, that are allowing side play, putting more uneven pressure on the clutch... it could be loose motor mounts ( which happens all the time ), causing uneven wear or pressure on the clutch... it could be abrasive dust that you are riding in ???
