ATV Loading Ramp Safety
#21
I'm a newbie, and bought a trailer for that very reason. www.northerntool.com Specifically made for 2 ATV's.

I use 2x10's with a ramp end bolted to them. However, that's for loading onto a trailer about a foot off the ground, so the ramps are only about 4 feet long. If it were going up into the bed of a pickup, aluminum loading ramps would be a must.

About that reciever hitch ramp setup... I found one on Ebay that has ramps built in for around 200 bucks. Its a good idea if you load and unload a lot. plus this one looked like it provided extra safety against the thing rolling out of the back of the truck, something ive painfully watched someones bike do before. I only looked because I saw this on a forestry truck and it made me wonder.
before I wrecked my trailer, I never worried about clipping the ramps to it, it was low enough that if I tried, I could get on it without ramps at all. On my truck, its a must.

When I bought my Vinson, I was in the finaince office signing papers while the saleswoman was loading it on to my truck. I came out of the office and another saleman say's"Well it looks like we owe you a new tailgate". You can guess what happend. She didn't get hurt, but my tailgate was sure bent. It cost the dealer $842.00 for a new one and to have it painted to match my truck.
