I've been looking at Lakotas around the tri-state area, and I have been looking at different year model Lakota's. Does anyone know where I could find a reference to compare the serial numbers of the Lakota's I look at to what year model they are? Is there anywhere other than a dealer i could go to find out the reference numbers to compare it to the serial number to find the correct year?

Here are a couple of things you could try to determine the year:

1. If you have access to the VIN number of the Lakota (located on the lower left side frame tube just below the engine or on the left front a-arm), go to Buy Kawasaki.com. Click on "View parts diagrams" (a link on the left side of the page). You should be taken to a page where you can enter the 17-digit VIN number of the atv and find information pertaining to it.

2. Check the frame for the production sticker. Generally, this would tell you the year the vehicle was manufactured. On a Lakota, I'd guess that the sticker is attached to the frame, somewhere under the headlight/hood.
