I was inspecting my 700 when I was looking for those wires to reset the belt Light. I found something new on the 700 and don't have a clue what it is for. It looks like a dummy terminator. It's sitting right next to the battery. I think I'm going to get Blair (Reds650) to inspect this, Wires go everywheres but one wire does go to the CDI. I don't recall this on my 650.

 

If it's what I'm thinking of on mine, it's key switched power and one of the wires goes to the parking brake set and brake light.
