The install was easy, but it doesn't look like the fuel pump goes all the way to the bottom. I measured the fuel pump, and it came to 7 1/2". Then I measured from the top of the tank from the inside down to the bottom, and it came to 9". So there is a small area about 1 1/5" where the pump won't pump. Has anyone ran it out of fuel then recorded how much fuel was put back in. I hope it's close to 4+ gal. I will be a little upset if it isn't.

On another note, it took 1.7 gal of gas before the low fuel light goes off. Is this what everyone else is getting.

 

I have not installed my tank yet......just posting so I can follow this one. Can a hose be lengthened to reach down in there?

 

Never mind the question of extending a hose....I just looked at the parts diagram for the fuel tank. I see it's the pump unit itself that extends down. ????

 

It's a metal bracket that holds everthing, and I could not see anyway to lenthen it.

 

can anyone help on this question, i was alsoplanning on the larger tank. would like to know about the pickup of extra fuel in the tank ?????????????????????

I remember someone else asking this same question some time back...Do a search and see what ya come up with....

 

I did a search, and the answer did not get answered. That was back in Nov, so I was hopeing someone has a answer by now.

 

I powered up the fuel pump and ran it into a gas can and it pumps the tank pretty much bone dry. I wasn't paying attention to when the low fuel light came on though.
