Same size fronts and rears?
#1
I am looking to replace the stock tires and am wondering if I could go to the same size front to back?
Something like a 26-10-12 or 26-12-12.
This would allow me to rotate the quick wearing backs to the front.
Any thoughts?

26-10-12's will work all around, one question, are the rims the same offset front and rear? If not you'll have to dismount the tires to rotate them, (a real pain with larger 6 ply tires). Another thought, might be better to run the wider rears and just replace them when they wear out. Mine seem to wear about twice as fast as the fronts so when the second pair of rears were shot I replaced all 4.

You will need to make sure the rears are at a higher pressure than the fronts or the 4x4 shifting won't work as well. The fronts need to be slightly smaller that the rears (not a whole tire size). I'm not saying use a 26" in back and a 25" in front. Tire manufacturers typically make the tires commonly used on the back a little bigger to facilitate easier steering in 4x4 and easier shifting in and out of 4x4.
Tires do not roll as far as their diameter X PI(3.14159). Their rolling distance has to be measured, and it also depends on load and rolling surface. Although you probably don't have to do this, you would want to make sure the rear tires roll about 2 inches further than the front ones in 1 revolution in order to insure proper operation of you machine. You can mess with the air pressure until your 4x4 shifting is acceptiable.
If the tires roll the same, it makes steering hard in 4x4 and sometimes shifting into 4x4 becomes more difficult. If the tires roll 4 inches different, then it causes a mechanical impact when shifting into 4x4 and a lot of drag while driving in 4x4.

I knew the overall tire height has to be the same, I was curious about width.
Thanks for the help.
Welcome back Nyroc...... I did the muffler mod and I LOVE it! Thanks

I have seen first hand 27x12x12 all around. (looks like a little jeep). I am about to get new tires and want to know if 28x12x12 all around will fit. If anyone has heard of this or seen this please let me know. Thanks
