Back in the saddle

This is my first post in this forum. After three years of seriously looking at quads, I recently purchased a 2004 V-Force. This is the first atv I have owned since my 86 Tecate 3. I looked at quite a few quads very hard the last few months, and I had it narroewd down to a DS650, Raptor, and the V. I was lucky enough to be able to ride the Raptor and the DS a few times, and I prefered the DS out of those two. It was just more comfortable. It then came down to the DS and the V. I hadn't been able to ride the Kaw at all, so I was a little skeptical of the auto tranny. I have had a few big bore thumper motorcycles, so the DS powerplant was something I was used to. Then last saturday the salesman I was dealing with let me ride the V. Needless to say, It's in my garage. I was very impressed with the way the tranny transmitted the power, and it is a big comfortable quad. Just what I was looking for. It was still a very tough choice for me, because I really like the DS also. The decision came down to one thing, reverse. Riding here in the Black Hills, it is very easy to get caught up in tight spaces and I had to turn a DS around by hand a few times, no fun. Needless to say I am happy with my purchase, and It's good to have a forum like this for great information.
